Committees enable streamlined communication between a site and the various stakeholders associated with the site’s studies. Committees are composed of people from your directory; therefore, you must enter the individuals you would like included on the committee into the People directory first.

Add a new committee

On the main menu bar, hover over Committees. In the dropdown menu, select All Committees.

The Committees screen displays a list of all the committees that have been created in your network. To create a new committee, in the top right corner, click + Add Committee.
On the Add Committee form, complete the following required fields, marked by an asterisk:
1. Committee Name: Enter the committee name in the name field. You will use this name to identify the committee throughout your startup activities.
2. Committee Type: From the dropdown menu, select the type that best describes the new committee.
3. Add Committee Member: Search for and select the person you would like to add to your committee from the dropdown menu. Only members of the People directory will populate in this dropdown. Selecting a user’s name from this dropdown will automatically add them to the committee member list below.

Once you have added all committee members, you can select a committee Chair and a committee Admin. Every committee requires at least one Chair and one Admin before it can be saved.
At the top or bottom of the screen, click Save Committee.

This committee can now be found in the All Committees list. Any user can access and edit the Committees.

Understanding the chair and admin roles

The Chair and Admin roles indicate who is the lead and the administrator on a committee. The list below explains additional information you should know about the Chair and Admin functions in Enterprise..

At least one chair and one admin must be assigned before saving a new committee. This can be the same person. You can also have more than one chair and/or admin per committee.
The assignment of these roles does not affect that user’s functionality in Enterprise. These roles simply denote who is the lead and who is the administrator for that committee.
Chairs and admins can be changed at any time using the Edit Committee function.
When a new Enterprise user is saved as a chair or admin, an automated email invitation is sent so the new user can create their new account. An account must be created before a user can access any items they are sent from within the application. Existing users do not receive an email notification if they are saved as chair or admin of a committee.
