To create a new report, you will:

Add dimensions and measures (For tables – The columns in your report)
Choose a visualization to display the information
Apply any optional pre-set filters
Run the report
Save and then share the report in Custom Reports if desired

Add dimensions and measures

To add dimensions and measures:

From Insights, near the top, hover over Custom Reports, and click Create Custom Reports in the dropdown.
There are two ways to add dimensions and measures. You can:
1. From the top left, start typing in the Find a Field, and then click on your desired data, or
2. Directly below Find a Field under All Fields, click on a dimension or measure to either select that data, or if there is additional data, to expand the dropdown and then click on the data to display.

Add additional dimensions or measures as needed for your report.
To remove a dimension or measure you added to the data section, click on the dimension or measure (highlighted in light gray) from the All Fields section, or click the gear icon in the data section and then Remove. You are now ready to choose a visualization to display the data.

Choose a visualization

To choose a visualization to display your data:

Click the Visualization section to expand.
At the top of the section, click the desired visualization. Options include: table, column graph, bar graph, scatter plot, line, area, and pie. On the right, click the three horizontal dots to see more options like timeline and funnel.

Add optional filters

An optional step is to add pre-existing filters to your visualization. Filters will display at the top of your new report. To add filters:

Click the Filters section to expand.
Click + Filter to access the Add Filter window.
At the top, you can type to search, or click on a dimension or measure.

Once you have added a filter, you can pre-set it to display refined data. Click the left dropdown to add modifiers like: contains, starts with, is not, etc.

On the right dropdown, click to add data to further refine your filter with a value.
Add additional filters by clicking the + Filter button.

Run the report

Now that you have added your data, chosen a visualization, and chosen any filters, you can now run the report:

In the top right, click Run.
The visualization will display in the Visualization section.

Save the report

You can save your report as a Look (A single visualization or data table), Dashboard (Two or more Looks combined in one report), or add it to an existing Dashboard. You can then save in a personal folder or in the Custom Reports section (for Dashboards only).

To save as a new Dashboard, add to an existing Dashboard, or save as Look:

In the top right, click the Explore Actions icon and then Save.
Choose As a new dashboard, Add to an Existing Dashboard, or As a Look.
Give the report a title in the Title field.
Choose if this will be saved in your personal folder or in a shared folder to display in Custom Reports:
1. For personal use, click My Folder.
2. For shared use in Custom Reports, click Shared and then choose the network from your assigned networks in the dropdown.
3. To add to an existing Dashboard, choose Shared and then click the desired Dashboard on the right.
Click Save to finish.

Download the report

To download the report:

In the top right, click the Explore Actions icon and then Download.
Choose the Format (TXT, Excel, CSV, JSON, etc.)
Click the desired radio buttons in Results, Data Values, and Number of Rows to include.
Click Download to finish.
